By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Oct 28: Farmers from Kohalpur Municipality have been earning Rs 5 lakhs to 7 lakh yearly from selling marigold flower.
First women flower entrepreneur Bishnu Chaudhary has said that she has been producing around 3 quintal marigold yearly in 7 kattha in Kohalpur- 3.
Chaudhary with a degree in Nepali subject has said that she has been earning yearly Rs 5 lakh selling the flower.
Karna Bahadur Thapa of Kohalpur-13, has said that he has been growing yearly 5 quantal marigold in 8 kattha.
He decided to jump into commercial flower farming after watching flower business in youtube.
Thapa said, “The flower business generates annual income of Rs 5 to 7 lakh and two people are employed”.
Last year we could not sold 3 quintal marigold due to ineffective marketing.
Kohalpur Municipality has informed that it is planning for exhibition of commercial flower farming of locally grown flower for its promotion.
