Gautam’s Ilam Bolchha launched

BY A STAFF REPORTER,Kathmandu, Sept.30: Ilam Bolchha, an anthology of poetry by Dharani Prasad Gautam, was released in Kathmandu on Saturday. 

The anthology consisting of 27 short poems in four different metres and three folk tunes was jointly released by a group of writers, including  Mohan Sitoula, journalist Bishnu Nisthuri and former secretary Khemraj Nepal. 

In the event organised by Ilam Bikas Samaj, the speakers highlighted different aspects of Nepali literature and the literary and academic personality of Dharani Prasad Gautam, the former Campus Chief of Mahendra Ratna Multiple Campus and former Reader of Tribhuvan University.

This is the seventh book of Gautam. Earlier, he wrote and coauthored six books, mostly literary criticism. 

In all 27 poems in Ilam Bolchha, Gautam has described the beauty of Ilam, his birthplace.  Some of the poems were also recited after the release of the book. 

On the occasion, author Gautam and his spouse Mitra Gautam were honoured by Ilam Bikas Samaj for their contribution to Nepali literature and education. 

At the event chaired by Radheshyam Lekali, chair of Ilam Bikas Samaj, festival greetings were also exchanged among the participants.
