Mahottari, Sept 24: Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Satish Kumar Singh, viewed adaptation to climate change is linked to our daily lifestyle.

"At a time when the entire world is bearing the brunt of climate change, adaptation to it is an urgent need in our country as well," he said while inaugurating the sixth national conclave on 'climate change based on local leadership' which was organized by 14 social organizations at Bardibas today.

He stressed the need of positive intervention to curb negative impacts of climate change. Pesticide-free agriculture, balanced and hygienic food intake, nature conservation, tree plantation for salubrious environment are fundamental to this end, according to him.

These practices are related to climate change adaptation. Massive public awareness at Madhes settlements with the leaderships of local social organization can spur these activities, he underlined.

He informed that the Madhes Province government had planned to plant over 10 million trees in the fiscal year, 2081/82. (RSS)
