PM Oli announces monetary compensation to those children killed in Panchthar explosion

Kathmandu, Sept 16: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed his sorrow over the death of two children in an IED explosion in Panchthar two weeks ago.     

In his address to a session of the House of Representatives (HoR) today, the Prime Minister announced to give Rs 500 thousand each to the victim's families as compensation.     

He said the government would take responsibility for the treatment of the injured.     

Two children faced tragic deaths in Panchthar, he said, informing the House that the government would compensate the bereaved family and further investigate the incident.     

The incident happened at Prangbung of Phalelung rural municipality-5 on August 29, killing two siblings and injuring other three children.     

Two siblings identified as Dipsan Sanwa, 11, and Prinsa Sanwa, 2, were killed in the explosion. The explosion occurred at the house inhabited by Gyan Bahadur Rai and the Sanwa family was the neighbour to him.(RSS)
