By Our Correspondent,Tamghas, Aug. 31: The plane that took off from Resunga Airport to Kathmandu on Friday last week without a single passenger, took off on Friday (August 30) with 15 passengers.

According to Resunga Airport station chief Suman Thapa, Nepal Airlines took off with 13 passengers from Kathmandu and 15 passengers from Gulmi, Resunga. Flight services could not be operated from Resunga Airport due to bad weather since mid-July this year.

The airlines got no passenger from Gulmi to Kathmandu last week due to the confusion among the passengers about whether the flight would take place. However, the plane had taken 12 passengers from Kathmandu to Resunga then. If the weather is clear, there will be regular flights every Friday, Thapa said.

Earlier, the airline company was flying only once a week on Fridays, and got permission to fly three times a week after the increase in the number of passengers. Thapa said that after the onset of the rainy season, the schedule is revised to fly only one day of the week on Friday.

He said that there is a schedule of flights from Kathmandu at 6:30 in the morning and from Resunga to Kathmandu at 7:45 in the morning.

With the air connectivity, tourists from France and Spain have also come to visit Gulmi, informed Resunga Municipality.

At present, the fare from Gulmi to Kathmandu is Rs. 7,300 and from Kathmandu to Gulmi is Rs. 7,500. The airport can be reached after a journey via a dirt road of about 5 kilometers from the district headquarters, Tamghas. Commercial flights from the airport began last year.
