Stolen image of Kartikeya traced in USA

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 30: The 12th/13th century stone sculpture of Kumar/Kartikeya has been located in the collection of James and Marilynn Alsdorf Chicago, USA. 

The stone sculpture was stolen from Sundhara, Nuga Tole, Patan, in the 1980s. 

The stolen sculpture’s photograph was taken by art scholar, Ulrich von Schroeder in 1976 CE and published in his book, Nepalese Stone Sculptures, Volume-1, Hindu. 

The sculpture was exhibited and published in the exhibition catalogue, "Himalayas: An Asthetic Adventure, 2003.
