UN Resident Representative Singer pays courtesy call on PM Oli

Kathmandu, Aug 7: United Nations Resident Representative to Nepal, Hanna Singer Hamdy, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Singha Durbar on Wednesday.     

In the meeting, PM Oli pledged to abide by the international commitments and declarations. He expressed hope for the UN support to materialize the aspiration of Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali.     

Informing Hamdy that the new government was formed for the country's prosperity, good governance, development and stability, PM Oli expressed the readiness to finalize law in relation to transitional justice based on political consensus.     

On the occasion, UN Representative Singer assured that the UN would continue support to Nepal in the field of development and prosperity. The UN has supported Nepal in poverty alleviation, energy, health, disaster risk reduction, and other social sectors, she reminded.     

Nepal has been contributing to the international peace and security through peacekeeping forces in line with the UN policy.(RSS)
