Devotees worship Lord Shiva at Galeshwor Shivalaya in Myagdi

By Our Correspondent,Myagdi, July 23: Devotees thronged the  Galeshwor  Shivalaya temple in Beni Municipaliy-7, Myagdi to worship Lord Shiva on the occasion of the first Monday of the month of Saun. The devotees from Myagdi, Baglung, Parbat, Pokhara and other many districts visited the temple and offered worship. 

Devotees believe that visiting Galeshwor Shivalaya Temple after bathing early in the morning on Monday will fulfil their wishes.

 Secretary Ram Bahadur Baniya of Galeshwor Shivalay Area Development Trust said that mostly women and teenage girls visit the temple and perform religious rituals with devotion and respect on Mondays in the month of Saun. The devotees are seen performing the religious ceremony from the morning, he added.

 Worshipping Lord Shiva with Bael leaves and sacred water during the whole Saun month is believed to make Lord Shiva happy and He will fulfil the devotees’ wish. 

The crowd of devotees will swell in the coming weeks, according to locals. The Indian devotees who are also seen worshipping during the month enter through the Muktinath entrance gate, said Baniya. 

Galeshwor Shivalaya temple is located on the bank of the Kaligandaki and the Rahughat Rivers, surrounded by rocks.
