Kaushiki Aarti resumed in Chatara, Dharan

By Our Correspondent,Barahachhetra, July 18: Kaushiki Aarti has been resumed at Kumbh Nagari Chatara Dham. Kaushiki Aarti was started on the banks of the Koshi at Durvasaghat area of Chatara Dham on the first day of the month of Shrawan on Tuesday.

Kaushiki Aarti has started to develop Barahachhetra Municipality as a religious tourism area with the help of Jagat Guru Pith Chaturadham, according to the municipality. 

Ramesh Karki, Mayor of the Barahachhetra Municipality, said that the evening Aarati of Kaushiki has been mentioned in the policy and programme of the municipality to develop the Baraha area as a religious site.  

The evening Aarati, which started on Tuesday at Durvasghat of Chatra Dham will be performed twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month.   

The schedule of Aarati will be revised after Shrawan month, said the municipality. 

The evening Aarati was resumed in the presence of Jagat Guru Balasanta Mahonsharan Devacharaya. 

Mayor Karki said that they have started offering regular prayers to the Kaushiki Aarti so that religious tourists can participate in the Kaushiki Aarti in the evening after visiting  the BarahachhetraTemple, Hanuman Temple, Radhakrishna Temple, Shis Mahal and Auliya Math. 

The then Minister Ram Kumar Subba had inaugurated the Maha Aarti on the Kaushiki River, but it was stopped midway due to lack of continuity. 

The municipality has resumed it again.
