Orientation is necessary for the elimination of child labour, says Labour Minister

Kathmandu, July 15: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sharat Singh Bhandari, has emphasized the need for comprehensive orientation at the public level for the elimination of child labour.     

Unveiling the ‘National Child Labor Elimination Report 2082’ at the ministry today, he said that the role of stakeholders is important for the elimination of child labour, while employment coordinators at the local level could be mobilized for it.     

Joint Secretary of the ministry, Pradeep Kumar Koirala, clarified that the report was made public by integrating the efforts made by various ministries and stakeholders in the field of child labour elimination.     

Joint Secretary Dandu Raj Ghimire said that the report highlights the achievements made in the field child labor.     

The report shed light on the percentage of children involved in child labor, those involved in hazardous work, and those involved in the agricultural sector has decreased in recent times.(RSS)
