By Tilachan Pandey, Tamghas, June 18: The Kaligankadi corridor has been halted because of the landslide. The road was halted when a landslip, triggered by the overnight incessant rainfall, above Gargare at Harmichaur Arbani, Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-Gulmi.
According to Manju Kumari Darlami, deputy ward chair of Kaligankadi Rural Municipality, the landslide was removed on Monday and Tuesday, and it will be cleared soon.
She said that there is a large stone just above the road and can fall any time so the risk is still there.
Long and short-distance vehicles are not able to commute from Purtighat, the centre of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality because of landslides.
The locals said that even commuting on Foot from the centre of the rural municipality is halted.
The Kalika construction has been working on upgrading the 45-kilometre road from Harmichaur to Balewa, Baglung.
It is mentioned in the agreement signed on December 11, 2025, that the tenure of a project worth Rs 3 billion is to be completed by December 11, 2025.
