By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 29: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Bhagbati Chaudhary has said that the budget allocated from the government for the Prime Minister Daughter Self-Reliant Program is insufficient.

The government has allocated Rs 100 million for the program in the annual budget for the fiscal year 2024/25 presented on Tuesday.

Addressing a program on the occasion of the 6th National Women's Rights Day in Lalitpur on Wednesday Minister Chaudhary said that the government had not allocated sufficient budget despite her continuous efforts. She has further added that the program should be led to move forward as a common slogan of all women.

Minister Chaudhary has viewed that without the economic empowerment of women, the country couldn't be prosperous.

She said that women now have a large number of constitutional rights.

This year's slogan for National Women's Day is "Our Campaign, Self-Reliant is daughter self-respect "
