Kathmandu, March 12: The proposal tabled in the upper house to elect Yubaraj Sharma of Nepali Congress to the post of National Assembly (NA) Chairperson has been rejected by a majority of votes.
The candidacy of Sharma received 17 votes in favour while 39 votes were against it, according to NA Vice-Chair Urmila Aryal who chaired the meeting. A total of 56 upper house members took part in the voting held today. (RSS)
