DPM Yadav takes charge

Kathmandu, March 10: Newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, has assumed office at the Ministry after taking oath of office and secrecy from the President today.     

On the occasion, he signed his first decision related to making arrangement for removing the delay in the surgical services seen at the federal and provincial hospitals and making the services prompt.     

He also made a decision to make digital technology more effective to alleviate the inconvenience of staying in the queue for a long time to access health services. "The compulsion of patients having to stay in long lines to access medical services should end. We will make arrangements enabling the patients to make appointments from their homes through online and digital technology. We will enhance the capacity of the government health institutions, providing quality health services," said the DPM and Health Minister.     

Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal's Chair Yadav was elected to the House of Representatives (HoR) in the by-election (April 23, 2023) from the Bara constituency-2. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Health and Population in 2075 BS. (RSS)
