Mahashivaratri, Women’s Day message

BY A STAFF REPORTER,Kathmandu, Mar. 8: President Ramchandra Paudel has extended best wishes to all Nepalis within the country and a broad on the occasion of the 114th International Women's Day and Mahashivaratri festival. 

Issuing a press statement on Thursday, President Paudel said that the day would motivate all to 

work for women's rights, equality, empowerment and the establishment of a gender-equal nation with the full and meaningful participation of women at all levels and sectors of the country. 

Every year, the International Women's Day is observed on March 8. This year, it is being celebrated with a national slogan 'Investing in Women: The Foundation of a Civilized and Prosperous Society."

Another statement issued by the President read that Sanatan culture existing in Nepal always reflected beliefs in Lord Shiva. “Nepal had always been a centre of spiritual contemplations for devotees from all across the world. It is a matter of great pride for the country to have the sacred Pashupat area, home of Lord Shiva,” read the statement.
