Missing 62 year old man found dead in Udayapur

By Bhaktibilas Pokharel, Gaighat, May 9: A 62-year-old man from Triyuga Municipality was found dead in Udayapur on Friday evening, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Chuda Bahadur Khadka of Rajabas, Triyuga Municipality-9, Udayapur District.

According to the District Police Office, Udayapur, Khadka had left a local hotel saying he was heading home. When he failed to return and remained out of contact for a long time, family members launched a search and found him dead on a narrow foot trail about 700 meters north of his house.

A police team from the District Police Office Udayapur reached the scene and completed the necessary legal procedures. The body was taken to the District Hospital in Udayapur for post-mortem examination before being handed over to the family for funeral rites.

Preliminary investigation suggests that Khadka may have died after being struck by lightning during Friday evening’s rainfall. Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
