By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 4: Shiva Sagar Sharma has been elected central president of the Federation of Nepal Books and Stationery Businesses (FNBSB). The seventh national convention of the Federation held in Kathmandu on Saturday elected a new 38-member working committee under Sharma for a term of two years.
Sharma was the general secretary in the previous central committee of the Federation. Matrika Sivakoti has been elected as senior vice president while Narayan Kumar Shrestha, Buddhi Prasad Adhikari and Saroj Maskey have been elected as vice presidents.
Bishnu Prasad Paudel has been elected as general secretary, Arjun Kumar Acharya as deputy general secretary, Tararam Shrestha as treasurer and Mahesh Sharma and Shambhu Lamichhane as secretaries. Kopila Giri has been elected secretary under the women category and Rabin Baral as the co-treasurer.
New elected president Sharma said that he would play a role in taking the Federation to a new height by making the business of books and stationery more dignified and orderly.
"The new central working committee formed under my chairmanship will focus on completing the existing programmes carried out by the Federation and will exert pressure on the government to introduce policies relating to this business,” Sharma told The Rising Nepal.
Highlighting the need for developing the reading culture along with publishing quality reading materials, he said that he would cooperate and discuss with the concerned agencies in this regard during his tenure.
He expressed his hope that he would get support from all, including businessmen involved in this business and academicians to enhance the quality of the education sector.
