Provincial art exhibition begins in Pokhara

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 4:The ‘Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition 2080’ kicked in Pokhara on Saturday.

Organised jointly by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Gandaki Academy of Fine Arts and a Creative Artist Group, the exhibition was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor of the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts Lalkaji Lama  Began with the theme of ‘Social Transformation: Fine Arts Campaign’ the exhibition will feature  74 artworks from the province. 

The event marks a significant step towards promoting regional artistic talent.

 Speaking at the inauguration ceremony,  Lama expressed satisfaction over the successful organisation of provincial fine arts exhibitions across all seven provinces.

 He announced that the top artworks from each province would not only be showcased in the ‘National Fine Arts Exhibition 2081’.

 Chairing the ceremony, Surya Khadka ‘Bikharchi’, Chancellor of Gandaki Academy, expressed delight in collaborating for the first provincial fine arts exhibition.

 Sauraganga Darshandhari, a member of the academic council of NAFA and the coordinator of the Gandaki Provincial Coordination Committee, expressed gratitude for the successful programme, acknowledging the cooperation of all involved. 

Manakumar Shrestha, member secretary of Gandaki Academy of Fine Arts, highlighted the exhibition’s role in inspiring young artists while honouring veterans who have dedicated their lives to the arts. 

The exhibition will continue till March 6. 

The provincial art exhibition has begun from Karnali Province and will be held in all seven provinces of the country, marking the first attempt to organise an art exhibition on a large scale covering all seven provinces.

Meanwhile, Lumbini Province art exhibition is set to be held on Tuesday. 

The exhibition, will take place at Rupandehi Udyog Sangh and the preparations for the exhibition are moving in full swing, informed NAFA.
