Kathmandu, March 1: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma said there is no problem in the ruling coalition.
Talking to journalists at the federal parliament building on Friday, Minister Sharma, also the government spokesperson, clarified that there is no rift among the coalition partners.
Sharing that the claiming National Assembly Chairperson was raised in the standing committee meeting of her party, Minister Sharma further said the coalition would not be broken because of the Maoist Centre.
She noted it was obvious for the CPN (Maoist Centre) to claim the Chairperson of the upper house as the largest party in the NA.
"CPN (Maoist Centre) has emerged as the largest party in the National Assembly, but so far there is no representation of the Maoists from the President to the Vice President, Speaker, Deputy Speaker and the National Assembly Chair. Our party has the Prime Minister, it is in his place. The issues were raised in the standing committee meeting with the intention that the Maoists should be able to stake claim for the post of National Assembly chairperson and the alliance should also cooperate in this regard," she said.
According to Sharma, the standing committee meeting of the party has reached an agreement to register candidacy for the post of National Assembly chairperson and the party has staked claim accordingly. (RSS)
