Chandragadhi Women's Gold Cup: TAC, APF enter final

Bhadrapur (Jhapa), April 25: The Armed Police Force (APF) Club entered the final of the first Om Sai Pathibhara Chandragadhi Women's Gold Cup underway at the Mechi Stadium in Jhapa.

The team secured its place in the final by winning the second semifinal match held on Saturday, defeating Church Boys United 3–0.  

APF will face Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) in the final on Monday.     

Rashmi Kumari Ghising scored the opening goal in the 34th minute, followed by a second goal in the 49th minute from Captain Anita Basnet. Ghising netted her second goal of the match in the 62nd minute.     

APF played an aggressive game, while Church Boys United played with a defensive mood. Renuka Nagarkoti of APF was named Player of the Match and received a cash prize of Rs 11,000.     

The tournament winner will receive Rs 1.1 million, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 500,000.     

In addition, the best player of the tournament will receive Rs 100,000. Awards for best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder, best forward, and best coach each carry a cash prize of Rs 25,000, according to the organisers.(RSS)
