Prince, Praful, Nangsal bag second win in a row

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb. 28: Nepal’s top-ranked badminton players Prince Dahal, Praful Maharjan, and Nangsal Tamang secured their second consecutive win in the league of top eight at the 13th Pushpalal Memorial National Ranking Badminton Tournament on Tuesday. The tournament is underway at Mahankal Badminton Club of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu. 

In the men’s singles, APF Club’s Prince Dahal defeated his teammate Bijit Thapa Magar 21-11, 21-11. Meanwhile, Praful Maharjan from Lalitpur beat Debraj Rana of APF 21-13, 13-21, 21-13. Police player Sunil Joshi also won his match against Jeevan Acharya from the same team with a score of 21-13, 21-17. Bishnu Katuwal of Police also recorded a win in the men’s singles category.

In the women’s singles, Nangsal Tamang secured her second win by defeating Shova Gauchan from APF with a score of 21-16, 20-22 and 21-11. Rashila Maharjan of Lalitpur also won her match by beating Nikita Lama of Sarlahi with a score of 21-6, 21-3. Anumaya Rai from Tribhuvan Army Club and Nita Lamsal of Police also won their respective matches in the women’s singles category. Anumaya beat Sima Rajbanshi of Morang 21-18, 21-16 and Nita defeated Amita Giri of Army with a score of 21-14, 21-17.
