Dev Patel adopts action avatar in 'Monkey Man'

Agencies,Mumbai, Jan. 28: Actor Dev Patel is set to present his action avatar in the upcoming action thriller 'Monkey Man' which is set to release in theatres worldwide on April 5.

Hollywood's studio Universal Pictures unveiled the official trailer for the flick, featuring well-choreographed and spectacular fight sequences on Friday night. The movie also marks Patel's debut as a director.

Inspired by the legend of the Hindu god Hanuman, 'Monkey Man' is set in Mumbai, India, and features the 'Lion' star as a man on a quest for vengeance against the corrupt leaders who murdered his mother, and continue to systemically victimise the poor.

'Monkey Man' is produced by Jordan Peele who has earned widespread acclaim for directing horror films that touch upon culture and social issues, especially race relations.
