We all have responsibility to develop our country: PM Prachanda

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 24: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said the government, all the political parties as well as the people in different strata of the society have the responsibility to develop the country.

Pointing out the need of transformation in political, economic, social, cultural as well as academic sectors of the country, PM Prachanda viewed that all including the state should take responsibility for this, said the PM.

PM Prachanda shared his views at a meeting held today at Baluwatar, the PM's official residence, with the reputed intellectuals including Dr. Kedarbhakta Mathema, Dr. Pitambar Sharma, Dr. Bidhyanath Koirala, Dr. Chaitainya Mishra and Prof, Krishna Khanal.

The PM sought support and help from the intellectual community of the country for the breakthrough he was trying to make by departing from the conventional way of appointing the top official at the university and thus making them victims of political sharing.

PM Prachanda said he has since long upheld the idea that the best brains of the country should be focused on making the country.


The PM shared that he has been striving for good governance, social justice and prosperity for the sake of prosperous Nepal and bright future of the people since he assumed the power, according to the PM's secretariat.

"It is the responsibility of the state to make the people confident that they have future in the country, but the intellectual community also has an important role for this," said the PM.

Renowned intellectuals including Dr. Kedarbhakta Mathema, Dr. Pitambar Sharma, Dr. Bidhyanath Koirala, Dr. Chaitainya Mishra and Prof, Krishna Khanal appreciated the PM for opting to meritocracy to appoint vice-chancellor in the university by doing away with political sharing. They said it has made the people optimistic. They also urged to initiate reform by restructuring overall educational sector including the university.
