By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 13: The special Australian issue of Pratik magazine, titled ‘Fire and Rain,’ was launched amid a programme held in Kathmandu recently. Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Felicity Volk, and the editor of the magazine, poet Yuyutsu Sharma, jointly unveiled the special Australian issue.

Speaking about the Australian special issue, Yuyutsu Sharma said that he has collected poems, articles, and art from Australian writers and creators. This marks the first such issue about Australia in Pratik Magazine, he added.

Australian Ambassador to Nepal, Felicity Volk, said that the magazine had made a significant contribution to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Nepal and Australia. She emphasised that diplomacy often focuses on economic policy and foreign policy, however, cultural voices presented in Pratik can play a crucial role in strengthening cultural ties between Nepal and Australia.

The Ambassador noted that Australian writers discuss universal themes, providing an important way to foster common understanding, compassion, and a shared humanity.

The magazine comprises 15 poems, eight fiction and non-fiction writing, an interview with Ambassador Felicity Volk, and references to the top five poetry books and novels from Australia by Jennifer Mackenzie and Sally Breen, respectively.
