CIAA files appeal at Supreme Court over Special Court decision

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec.12: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has appealed the case against Deepak Bam and Nirak Shahi at the Supreme Court. 

Narahari Ghimire, spokesperson of the CIAA, said that after having dissatisfaction over the verdict of the Special Court, Kathmandu, on the Rs 3,000 embezzlement case against mechanical engineer Deepak Bam and middleman Shahi for Rs 10,360 bribery, the CIAA filed the appeal at the Supreme Court. 

According to the CIAA, the demand for imprisonment and fine has been taken against them as per the Prevention of the Corruption Act, 2059 (2002 AD).
