Communications Ministry and RSS sign MoU for grant release

Kathmandu, Aug 6 : A memorandum of understanding has been reached between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to release grant provided to RSS by the Ministry under capital for the fiscal year, 2023/24.     

RSS executive chairperson Dharmendra Jha and the Ministry's undersecretary Keshab Raj Subedi signed the MoU amid a function today at the Ministry.     

Others present on the occasion were RSS General Manager Siddha Raj Rai, the administrative chief Shital Prasad Mahato, the account chief Rudramani Adhikari, the Ministry's section officers Tirtha Raj Chapagain, Mahesh Subedi, Madhusudan Pudasaini and computer operator Usha Ghising.     

According to the MoU, as part of the grant, Rs 33 million will be released to RSS. Of the allocated amount, Rs 20 million will go for the construction of the RSS' building in Pokhara, Rs 10 million to operate audio and visual service, Rs 2 million for purchasing communications equipment, and Rs 1 million for building repair, it has been said.     

On the occasion, RSS executive chair Jha pledged that RSS would timely complete all target programmes for the current FY. Similarly, the Ministry's undersecretary Subedi expressed the hope that positive results would come by timely completing the target programmes. (RSS)
