Prices of meat-products fixed in Humla market

By Our Correspondent,Humla, June 30: A meeting of the Meat Sale Price Facilitation Committee in Simkot, Humla, has determined the prices of meat and meat products sold in the market on Thursday. 

Bishnu Bumi, deputy animal health officer of Simkot Rural Municipality's Animal Department, said the committee had fixed the prices after receiving complaints about the disparity in prices of the meat and meat products. The determined price would be effective from Thursday, he added.

Before fixing the price, goat meat was being sold at Rs. 1,300 per kg, chicken at Rs. 900 and egg at Rs. 30 per piece. 

The committee had fixed the price of goat meat at Rs. 1,200 per kg, goat leg at Rs. 100 per piece, goat head at Rs. 800 per head, chicken meat at Rs. 750 per kg, egg at Rs. 25 per piece, pork at Rs. 700 per kg, fish at Rs. 650 per kg and buff at Rs. 700 per kg. Similarly, live goat will be sold at R. 800 per kg. 

Except for buff and goat meat, other meat is imported from outside the district.
