By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 24: A five-day art exhibition titled ‘Love for Language and Culture’ began in Kathmandu on Friday. Organised by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu, the exhibition is showcasing 33 artworks created during a one-day art workshop held on February 25, which coincided with International Mother Language Day.
The exhibition will continue until June 27 at the Nepal Art Council in Babarmahal, Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha inaugurated the art exhibition. Speaking at the programme, DPM Shrestha said that art is a reflection of different dimensions.
He expressed his belief that art would play a pivotal role in spreading art, culture, language, and lifestyle within and beyond the country. He further stated that art is an integral part of life, and the art exhibition would contribute to building bilateral relationships between the two countries stronger.
Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal, said that the art exhibition was organised to honour language and culture.
He highlighted that the exhibition aimed at promoting weaker languages from around the world. Ambassador Chowdhury added that the art exhibition would display a captivating collection of paintings reflecting the unique cultural expressions of both countries.
He further said that the exhibition would provide an opportunity to explore the shared heritage, traditions, and values that strengthen the bonds of friendship between the people of the two countries.
He said that the art exhibition aimed to contribute to the celebration, preservation, and promotion of linguistic diversity and cultural identity.
The exhibition features artworks by various Nepali artists, including Kiran Manandhar, Bijaya Thapa, Gautam Ratna Tuladhar, Sushma Rajbhandary, Radhe Shyam Mulmi, and others.
