Cabinet discusses PM's India visit

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 31: The Council of Ministers discussed the official visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' to the neighbouring country India scheduled for May 31- June 3. 

Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, who is also the Spokesperson for the government, informed that the Prime Minister's visit to India was discussed at the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar. 

Minister Sharma said, "In the meeting of the Council of Ministers today, there was a general discussion about the preparation of the Prime Minister's visit to India from Wednesday."

Minister Sharma said that the visiting delegation will also have five ministers. The Prime Minister, leading the Nepali delegation, is scheduled to leave for India tomorrow by Nepal Airlines Corporation.

The budget, which was made public on Monday, was also discussed in the cabinet meeting, she said. Communication Minister Sharma said that there was also a discussion about discussing the budget in the House of Representatives only after the Prime Minister returns to Nepal from India. 

The budget will be discussed and passed in both houses of Parliament.

Likewise, a general discussion on National Citizenship Bill was also held in the Cabinet meeting, Minister Sharma said. Earlier, the Cabinet meeting had also decided to request the President for certifying the Bill.

"We believe that the President will pass the bill according to the provisions of the Constitution", said Minister Sharma.
