blog

By Our Correspondent,Dhankuta, Apr. 7: Dhankuta Hospital has started necessary preparation to provide dialysis services after receiving five sets of dialysis machines from the federal government.

The machines were provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) and Department of Health Services (DoHS).

According to officials, the lobbying for the machines were performed by Sunil bahadur Thapa, Nepali Congress candidate for the House of Representatives from Dhankuta in the 2022 elections.

"Leader Thapa had assured Dhankuta locals to manage dialysis services in the district. He lost the election but did not forget to fulfill his promise," said Bijay Santoshi Rai, secretary at Nepali Congress Dhankuta District Committee.

Thapa was recently appointed the Political Advisor for President Ram Chandra Paudel.

"Health personnel have been trained to operate the dialysis machines. Some technical and other process are underway to bring the machines into operation at the earliest," said Dr. Abhitap Thakur, medical superintendent at the hospital. After the service becomes accessible in Dhankuta Hospital, kidney-related patients of not only Dhankuta but the neighbouring districts, such as Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha, Bhojpur, Taplejung and Panchthar, will also be benefited.
