Singer Rajesh Payal 'Goodwill Ambassador' of Diktel

By Our Correspondent,Khotang, Apr. 6: Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality of Khotang has appointed singer Rajesh Payal Rai as the 'Goodwill Ambassador' of the municipality.

The executive body of the municipality on April 2 decided to appoint singer Rai as the 'Goodwill Ambassador' of the municipality, said Mayor Tirtharaj Bhattarai at a press conference. 

Singer Rai was born at Buipa in Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-14.

 Mayor Bhattarai said that singer Rai was considered as a symbol of pride and self-respect by the municipality, so he was honoured with the position. 

 He said that singer Rai had also expressed his commitment to work for the prosperity and identity of the municipality.

Mayor Bhattarai said that he was confident that singer Rai's regular visits to the country and abroad will further establish the identity of the municipality. Similarly, the same executive has also formed advisory committees.

Meanwhile, in order to develop the important, culture, civilisation, religious and tourist areas of Khotang district, the municipality is going to hold an international live painting programme.

 According to Mayor Bhattarai, around 40 people, including senior painters from different countries and prominent painters of Nepal, will sit in Diktel for a week and paint important places of the municipality and district on the canvas. 

The municipality has a plan to exhibit these artworks in Kathmandu, said Bhattarai.
