Two women killed in tiger attack in Bardiya

By Our Correspondent,Bardiya, Mar. 21: Two women have died after being attacked by a tiger in the Chiraute Community Forest area located in Madhuban Municipality-5 of Bardiya district.

Superintendent of Police Hikmat Bahadur Bohora of the District Police Office in Bardiya informed that those who died in the tiger attack are Dhansari Gurung, 50, of Ward No. 5 in the municipality and Samundri Budha, 45, of the same municipality.

Locals said that the tiger attacked them when they went to the forest to collect grass for animals.

Bohora informed that the deceased would be handed over to their relatives after a post-mortem at Bardiya Hospital.

It was reported that an injured tiger was found on Sunday for the first time in the area connected to the Indian border of the Khata biological route. The area is at high risk of wild animal attacks.
