Actor Shah joins Rukum Festival

By Our Correspondent,Rukum, Mar. 16: Actor Paul Shah, who was released on February 27 after spending a year in prison on charges of sexual abuse, is all set to make a comeback in acting.   

Actor Shah participated in the “Rukum Agriculture, Tourism, Trade and Cultural Festival” held in Barahtakura of Musikot Municipality-1 on Wednesday, for the first time after his release from jail. 

Speaking at the programme, Shah said that he would try to get close to the audience quickly through a music video and gradually play movies.  

Shah said that he is  returning to the industry from a song “Timilai Herne Bani Paryo” soon.  

Shah also shared his experience in the jail, and said it was like a university for him.

“I thought I had only a mother, father, brother and sister in my house,” said Shah, “But while in jail, I found out that I have millions of parents, brothers, sisters, and friends.” 

He said that he was able to come before the audience again due to the prayers and blessings of millions and thousands of relatives and well-wishers.

Shah was detained in Tanahun Jail on charges of rape of a minor, was acquitted by the Pokhara High Court on February 15. He reached Rukum to attain the festival by helicopter.

Rukum festival is being conducted under the slogan “Rukum West is the foundation of prosperity, art culture, tourism development and industry trade” organised by the National Folk Duet Academy, Rukum West and co-organised by the Art Culture Tourism Promotion Forum Rukum West. 

The festival will conclude on March 21.
