By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 7: Tickets for the sixth edition of the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) to be held from March 16 to 20 have been opened since Monday.
Issuing a press statement on Monday, the organiser, Nepal Film and Cultural Academy, informed that the tickets can be booked from the Khalti App. Unlike the previous festival, this year, the films selected for the festival will be screened in the four QFX cinema halls in Kathmandu.
Last year, the NIFF had inked an agreement with QFX to screen the films in its halls in the festival. Accordingly, the films selected for the festival will be screened at Chhaya Centre and Civil Mall in Kathmandu, Labim Mall in Lalitpur and QFX Hall in Bhaktapur.
According to the organiser, 95 films from 35 countries have been selected from over 500 entries from 55 countries for the festival. According to the lineup of the festival, film 'Chari' directed by Korin Sharma will be screened at the opening ceremony.
The festival will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ' Prachanda' at Civil Mall in Kathmandu, informed the organiser. There will be competitions of national and international features, shorts, and documentary films while 14 awards will be presented to the winners, informed the organiser.
