Prasad 2: A film about society, politics and relationship

By Pallav Bhusal,Set in a society which still believes in taboos, trailer of Prasad 2 overwhelms the viewers with emotions.The trailer begins with a couple being evicted from their village because of something they did that is not accepted in society. 

Meanwhile, the main protagonist seeks to run for election, believing that lofty political positions can grant immense power and impunity. This political ambition unleashes devastating unrest in the village as a result.

A storyline between husband and wife is also woven into the trailer. Their struggle to get their relationship approved by the society is captured perfectly. Also, love between the couple and their trust towards each other is depicted flawlessly. They are facing and fighting the injustice in the society together.

Viewpoint of the society portrayed shows how our community still treats defiant behaviours. The trailer suggests that the only way to end any social conflict is by violence or humiliation.  

The introduction of the antagonist sparks an excitement. The two main characters have a history between them. What’s more, the storyline reveals how the antagonist devastates a thriving husband-wife relationship mentioning about their illegitimate child. 

Another aspect brings into light the hardships women in rural Nepal face on a daily basis. The cinematography of the film looks very captivating and real.

Prominent actors include Bipin Karki, Keki Adhkari, Arpan Thapa and Mahesh Tripathi among many others – stars with high standing in Nepali film industry. 

Edited nicely, the trailer leaves no room for spoilers. 

Directed by Sudarshan Thapa under the banner of Shuvash Thapa Production, the move is  set for April 7 theatre release.
