Janaki Eye Hospital starts providing high-quality treatment

By Our Correspondent,Dhanusha, Mar. 5: Janaki Eye Hospital, operated by Nepal Red Cross society in Janakpurdham, has started providing high quality eye treatment. That has increased the number of patients visiting the hospital daily. According to the Hospital Administration, about 300 to 500 patients with various eye diseases come there for treatment daily.

Naresh Singh, Chairman of the Eye Hospital Development Commitee, hundreds of eye patients from Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, as well as Madhuwani, Sitamadhi of India were impressed by the quality of work performed in that hospital from general care to surgery. He mentioned that hospital conduct camps in the remote area of Madhes Province in collaboration with various organisations after identifying complex eye patients before bringing them to the hospital for free treatment. 

Dr. Aashish Bohora, the hospital director and retina specialist, has been treating more than 100 patients every day. He said that eye patients who underwent needleless (tophical phoco) surgery at the hospital could see the world within an hour of the surgery. He added that more than 1200 pearl point patients had benefited from surgery in the hospital.

According to Dr. Bohora, more than 25,000 pearl point patients have been cured with the surgery over the past seven years. Even after performing more than 100 peral point surgery a day, he said he felt no fatigued but rather happier than the patients he cured. He claimed that Dr. Sanduk Ruit has inspired him to move in his footsteps. Dr. Bohora also suggested that people with diabetes should get their eye checked up every six months.
