blog

By Diwakar Pokharel,Deukhuri, Mar. 4Formation of the new eight-party alliance has affected national politics from the centre to provinces. When the CPN (Maoist Centre) returned to pre-election alliance led by the Nepali Congress, the provincial governments led by the CPN-UML are now on the verge of collapse.  The current UML-led coalition government in Lumbini Province is  also not an exception.

The parties in the new eight-party alliance held a joint meeting here on Thursday to discuss the changes in power equation and the upcoming Presidential election.

The meeting was also attended by the Provincial Assembly members of Lumbini Province, who had gathered to participate in the sixth meeting of the Provincial Assembly.

Nepali Congress’s Parliamentary Party leader Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary said that the change in power equation in the centre had also affected the provincial government.

He claimed that with the formation of the new alliance, the eight parties now enjoyed a comfortable majority.

Parliamentary Party (PP) leader of CPN (Maoist Centre) and Minister of Economic Affairs Jokha Bahadur Mahara, PP Leader of Janmat Party and Minister of Social Development Chandrakesh Gupta also attended the meeting.

Claiming that the current government has failed, Santosh Pandey, PP leader of Loktantrik Samajwadi Party said that a new government would be formed in the Province within two months. He said the alliance would proceed with a new arrangement.
