BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Humla, Feb.15: A woman, who has been in labour pain since Monday night, could not be rescued through helicopter because of a technical problem.
A Nepali Army helicopter from Surkhet could not rescue the woman after it landed in Bajura due to a technical problem.
According to Amrit Subedi, Assistant Chief District Officer of Humla district, the Nepali Army helicopter flown from Surkhet had landed in Bajura due to the technical problem and could not rescue the pregnant woman from Changkheli Rural Municipality of Humla.
The helicopter was arranged by the President's Women Upliftment Programme on Tuesday morning, after the condition of the pregnant woman worsened.
Ashma Jaishi, 24, of Changkheli Rural Municipality-2, has been in labor pain since Monday night, said Sarita Bohara, senior officer at the district hospital.
Jaishi had been admitted to the health post at Piplang Rural Municipality, but her situation became complicated. The woman was unbale to deliver at the health post in the lack of required equipment.
Nara Prasad Chaulagain, a health worker at the health section of the rural municipality, said that it would take time to fix the helicopter.
He has demanded another helicopter as the condition of the pregnant woman was getting complicated.
However, the local administration said a new helicopter could not be arranged as it was not in Surkhet.
