By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug 24: A total of 487 new
cases (RT-PCR and antigen tests combined) of COVID-19 were confirmed on Wednesday
while 164 people recovered from COVID-19.
In 1,806 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction
(RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, a total of 242 people were found
infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP)
in its regular update on Wednesday.
Likewise, the virus infection was detected in 245
people in 2,371 antigen tests performed in the last 24 hours.
Currently, there are 4,298 active cases of
COVID-19 across the nation of which, 175 are admitted to institutional
isolation while 4,123 patients are placed in home isolation. Out of which
50 are in ICU and two are on ventilator support.
One fatality related to COVID-19 was recorded in the
last 24 hours, according to the MoHP. So far, Nepals' COVID-19 death toll has
reached 11,995.
In the last one week, five people died of COVID-19.
