Two die after falling off cliff

Sindhupalchowk, July 25: Two persons including a child died after falling off a cliff and being swept away by a river at Koiralatar of Indrawati rural municipality-5 in Sindhupalchowk district this afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as Goma Dhital, 55, of Chautara Sangachiwkgadhi municipality and five-year-old Bishesh Chalise, of Melamchi municipality-11. The child was Goma nephew. 

The incident took place when Indrawati  rivulet swept away both of them after they fell from the cliff at a time when Goma was heading towards her maternal home at Indrawati rural municipality-10, said Parbati Chalise, mother of the child.

The bodies that were recovered downstream have been sent to Melamchi for postmortem, said Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Indrajeet Itani. (RSS)
