Landslides obstruct Mid-hill highway in Achham

By Shiva Raj Dhungana, Achham, July 19: The mid-hill highway at the Panchadewal Binayak Municipality of Achham district has been blocked since yesterday due to a landslide of Monday night.  

The road was obstructed at Darepata, wards 3 and 4 of the municipality.

This has hindered the commuting of long and short travelling vehicles from Achham to Surkhet and Dailekh.

A local, Suresh Rawat said that the landslide occurred on Monday night, and since then vehicles have been stopped due to landslides.

Harka Bahadur Rawal, Deputy Mayor at the Panchadewal Binayak Municipality said that no contacts have been made to the affected area so far because of a lack of network, however, it is necessary to repair the road.

The locals have demanded that the landslides on the road should be cleared and traffic as soon the phone contact is made.
