Kathmandu, July 17  :  Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki today inaugurated the Rashtriya Samachar Samiti (RSS)' video service.

Minister Karki inaugurated the National News Service's studio and launched the video service by cutting a ribbon at the Studio Room at the RSS Central Office, Bhadrakali.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Minister Karki, and Ministry Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal expressed their best wishes on the occasion of the launching of the video service by RSS, wishing that may the RSS develop into the best news agency in South Asia. RSS, the sole State-run news agency, has been continuously providing its service since its establishment on Fagun 7, 2018 BS.

The demand and relevancy of the RSS video service are seen with the increase in the number of television channels and a growing number of online media too running their own channels.

Along with news, RSS had provided video services to Nepal Television from Nepalgunj, Biratnagar, Pokhara, and Kathmandu in the past.

The video service provided by RSS at that time had closed down due to technical reasons. (RSS)
