Leopards cause a panic in Tanahun

By Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahun, July 1: The sighting of the leopards with the cubs in the Tanahun district during the daytime has created a panic among the locals. 

Division forest office Tanahun has requested all to be vigilant as leopard remains more aggressive these days as it is their baby-raising season. 

Komal Prasad Kahle, Chief of the division forest office, Tanahun, said that the risks of leopards attacking humans and livestock become high in this season as leopards roam around with cubs. 

Locals have informed that leopards with cubs have been sighted in a few wards of Byas Municipality, and Bandipur and Anbu Khaireni rural municipalities.

"People should move in a group while walking or going to school in the morning or evening," said Kaphle. 

A child of Bandipur Rural Municipality - 1 lost his life a few days ago in a leopard attack. 

Similarly, the Ward chair of Anbu Khaireni Rural Municipality - 1 Prem Bahadur Gurung, issuing notice on Tuesday, urged all ward residents to stay safe. 

12 children have been killed by leopards attacks in the last three years in the Tanahu district.
