Nepal-Africa film festival concludes

By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, June 2: Moroccan movie Ghost of Spacetime directed by Karim Tajouaout won the Best Short Film Award in the 10th Nepal-Africa Film Festival that concluded here on Tuesday. 

Likewise, Eye of the Storm directed by Sekou Traore of Burkina Faso won the Best Feature Film Award. 

Kuineto –directed by Madhab Kharel won the award in feature film category while Aaina directed by Krisha Chaulagain won the award in short film genre in the three-day intercontinental film festival.

Actor Shree Dev Bhattarai won the Jury Award from the film Kuineto while Jiwan Parajuli bagged the Best Cinematography Award. 

Director Krisha Chaulagain won the Best Director Award from the Critic while Bhupendra Adhikari bagged the Best Editor Award from Aaina. 

Rishi Raj Acharya bagged the Best Director Award from Rise while Gajit Bishta won the Best Actor, Sarita Bharati Best Actress, Tulasi Prasad Shrestha  Best Negative Character and Rina Awale the Best Hair Stylist Awards from the same film.

Rajendra Bajgain won the Best Background Music Director Award from the film The Daughter while Renis Phago won the Best Colour Correction Award from the same film.

Musician Jugal Dangol, actors Prem Pandey, Prawan Bhusal, Sagar Ghising, Music video directors Vidhan Karki, Ajaya Syantan and film journalist  Kuber Giri were the judges of the festival. 

The festival has been organising for the past 10 years with the aim of exchanging Nepali and African culture and art through film festival, said festival director Dabbu Kshetri.
