Coalition files nomination of Koirala for Biratnagar Mayor, Yadav for Deputy Mayor

By Dhiraj Dahal, Biratnagar, April 25: On the last day of the nomination for the local level election, Nagesh Koirala has registered his nomination for the Mayor post on behalf of the Nepali Congress in Biratnagar Metropolitan City.

He has registered his candidacy in the office of the Chief Election Officer.

Similarly, Amarendra Yadav has registered his candidacy on behalf of the Janata Samajwadi Party. The names of Koirala and Yadav were decided by the alliance.

For the upcoming local elections, the Nepali Congress was able to select a candidate for the top post. After a long tug of war, Koirala got the ticket for the post of mayor.

Yadav, who has registered his candidature for the post of Deputy Mayor from the alliance, is the son of Janata Samajwadi Party president Upendra Yadav.

According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Biratnagar, registration of candidates from various political parties is underway.
