PIC seeks property details of officials for examination

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 16: The Property Investigation Commission (PIC) has instructed in-service and retired high ranking officials to submit property details for examination. 

Issuing a public notice, the Commission has warned of legal action to those refusing to submit the details, delaying submissions of or submitting false details. 

The Commission has asked political leaders or civil servants holding public posts in various organisations until the current fiscal year or those who have retired to submit the details of property in their of their relatives’ names. 

According to an initial estimate, about 30,000 individuals will fall under the purview of the Commission. 

Speaker of the Commission, former Deputy Inspector General of Police Ganesh KC, said that the Commission had rights at par with a court and hiding property and submitting false details would be considered a serious violation of law. “Ignoring the notice of the Commission will attract legal process.”
