Court seeks investigation file on leader Khadka's case

Kathmandu, April 15: The Supreme Court has ordered the Department of Revenue Investigation to submit the investigation file on a case involving former minister and Nepali Congress leader Dipak Khadka.     

Khadka has been arrested on charge of money laundering.     

 A division bench of justices Til Prasad Shrestha and Shanti Singh Thapa issued the order on Wednesday in response to a habeas corpus writ petition filed by Khadka's spouse, Binita Thapa.     

The Department of Revenue Investigation is ordered to submit the investigation document and written response within mid-day on Thursday. The Department has launched investigation on property of leader Khadka.     

On Monday, the Department had allowed security agency for three days' detention of leader Khadka. Earlier, the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police had arrested former minister Khadka on March 29 in connection with the investigation of his property.(RSS)
