Kanchanpur, Feb 23: The Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Kanchanpur has provided 50 per cent grant to those involved in commercial farming. The Centre has been supporting the farmers in production materials, irrigation facility, capacity building and marketing of products.
Agriculture Publicity Director at the Centre, Hari Prasad Paneru, shared that the facility had been supporting in production and for the market of the produces through 'one local-level, one agricultural produce' scheme. It helps in promoting commercial agro productions by utilizing local resources and potentials.
Fifty percent grant has been handed over from Rs 4 million budget to the farmers of Krishnapur municipality, Paneru shared, adding the Centre had been providing necessary agricultural tools and goods. For this, farmers were selected for vegetable farming from 40 groups and cooperatives in Krishnapur.
The Centre has been continuously supporting the tillers by providing tools, imparting training and technical consultation in order to increase production and productivity.
A local farmer Prem Bahadur Dagaura mentioned that the grants and technical support provided by the Centre had helped them secure more income at low cost. "We have got support for seeds and marketing of the products. So it has helped us become self-reliant," he added. (RSS)
