Kathmandu, March 30: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Dr Bikram Timilsina, directed the authorities in the Ministry's subordinate agencies to come up with reform plans that instills hope among the public.
Receiving the briefings during the on-site inspection of the Department of Postal Services, the Department of Information Technology and the Advertisement Board on Monday, Minister Dr Timilsina called upon the authorities of those agencies to submit, within one week, the list of works that requires immediate improvement as well as work plans that are important for long terms that deliver tangible results for citizens.
Stating that the country is moving ahead in line with the public's aspiration for change, the Minister highlighted the need to make service delivery more efficient and effective by improving working styles in the public offices.
He asserted that the country must move ahead with renewed energy and pace to meet the aspirations of its people. "The country needs to move at a different pace and with new momentum," he insisted. "The government belongs to everyone, so let us work together to meet public's expectations," he urged.
Minister Timilsina viewed that the effectiveness of public service delivery should be enhanced guided by new thinking and sentiments.
Calling for an end to delays in service delivery caused by procrastination, inefficiency and the pretext of limited resources, the newly appointed Minister encouraged all staffs to deliver with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
On the occasion, the Heads of all three agencies pledged to accelerate to work in line with the government's newly unveiled 100-point roadmap for effective governance. (RSS)
