Gulmi, March 31: A suspension bridge connecting Chhaldibar to Palukha villages of Isma Rural Municipality-2 in Gulmi district was completed five months before the given deadline.
Construction company Aastha Samjhana JV Arghakhanchi built the infrastructure at the cost of Rs 17.18 million plus budget. Initiated by the Road Infrastructure Development Office, Tamghas, the 146- meters-long bridge was given a deadline of August 19, 2026 for construction. The local community members have expressed their happiness, thanks to the timely construction of the bridge.
Yam Bahadur Thapa, a local resident, shared that children, students, senior citizens and patients had to suffer terribly during the monsoon river to cross the swollen river, and added that the trend has ended after the bridge construction. Likewise, the distance for travelling was heavily cut, he added.
Similarly, another local resident, Ramlal Ghimire, shared that the school goers and patients have felt a great relief from the facility and hoped that business activities would also grow there. (RSS)
